This video tip demonstrates the technique of the offensive lob and the type of segmented swing pattern used for the shot. An illustration indicates where the target area is for this shot and the appropriate height for an offensive lob.

An offensive lob does not always need to have topspin. It should be hit at such a height that just clears the extended racquet of the opponent and allows for you to come in behind and follow up. The offensive lob should be equal parts backswing and follow through, or someone symmetrical in swing path balance.
