In a seminar presented at a World Conference, Emilio Sanchez said that any shot not hit between the hips and the top of the head on the forehand and the hips and the shoulders on the backhand is an emergency shot. He said that although we want to play the ball from hip to head and our movement skills should be developed to allow for that strike zone whenever possible, we must also develop certain “emergency shots” that will inevitably be required during the course of a match.
