Redirecting one’s coaching perspective away from stroke production and more toward strategy can be challenging for most coaches. Strategic coaching places the emphasis on patterns, positioning and shot placement. When coaching strategy, the focus should be on creating patterns based on the given strokes, not changing strokes.
