    The three conditions that make for successful drop shots are: 1). hit off of slow to medium paced balls. It’s more difficult to take the pace off of a fast traveling ball. 2). Be inside the baseline and avoid hitting drop shots from behind the baseline. The ball has less distance to travel, therefore you can ensure greater success of your dropshot when closer to the net. 3). Good drop shots contain an element of deception and should be hit when you are in control of the point.
